New eyes, a new way of seeing is what we acquire when we are situated at the lotus feet of Sri Guru.
“No taxation without representation”. But our interest is represented in the Absolute.
Unless you are ready and willing to embrace a plurality of gurus, you can’t enter into the mysteries of this literature (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita).
In terms of expressing gratitude, it doesn’t mean that we cannot voice that in our own way, but we take help from the mantras that have been there since the beginning, before the beginning, in praise of Sri Guru and the Vaishnavas.
The reason for being for a disciple is to fulfill the order of Guru.
A devotee, still, internally, may in the form of prayer express their gratitude to Krishna in this way, “Oh, Krishna, you are so kind to me to give me the association of your devotees. That is Your supreme mercy upon me to bring me in connection with your devotees, Guru and Vaishnav, and others. And I’m in a fortunate situation that I’m surrounded by them”.
We are hearing how the great devotees are expressing their hearts then when that time comes, our heart will be equipped to eloquently express these prayers and gratitude.
Contemporary devotees, each generation — they can, actually, contribute something fresh and original. But to do that you have to be equipped, and for to be real and substantial, you have to be under the influence of the higher.
Wish-fulfillment: we want this person, place or thing. We are subjective agents, but our focus is outward, into the objective world. And we are envisioning some objective scenario that is egocentric, where we are at the center and things are going our way. And then what happens is the things do not go your way. You may have noticed this.
Braja-gopis have no body consciousness. They only live for Krishna. Their bodies are composed out of dedicating tendencies.
