Śrīla Bhakti Vinod Ṭhākur is known as the pioneer of the modern day Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. He appeared in this world in 1838 in Kolkata and was a well educated and respected magistrate. He was fluent in several languages and wrote large volumes of works bringing the ancient teachings of the Vedas as well as the writings of the renaissance goswāmīs into the modern era. He particularly desired to impart these teachings in the english language and share this rich heritage with the occupying British. He revealed the appearance place of Śrī Chaitanya Mahāprabhu and firmly established Mahāprabhu's life and precepts. He departed from this world in 1914.

Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur prayed for an empowered personality to continue his teachings, and his prayers were answered in the person of his son, Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhupad, who presented Krishna consciousness extensively throughout India at the beginning of this century. Śrīla Śrīdhar Mahārāj, also known by his sannyās title, Bhakti Rakṣak Śrīdhar, was a pre-eminent disciple of Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Saraswatī Ṭhākur. He appeared in 1895 in West Bengal at the time of the British rule of India. He was from an exalted brahmin family and naturally excelled in all his studies. He dedicated himself to the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement at the age of 31 and for the following 62 years strictly followed this practice. He founded his temple Śrī Chaitanya Saraswat Maṭh in 1942 and remained there until his departure from this world in 1988. He was widely appreciated for his deep conceptions and volumes of original poetic writings.

Śrīla Govinda Mahārāj, also known by his sannyās title, Bhakti Sundar Govinda, was the pre-eminent disciple and successor of Śrīla Śrīdhar Mahārāj. He appeared in 1929 in West Bengali in an exalted brahmin family and joined his Guru at the Śrī Chaitanya Sāraswat Maṭh in 1947. He was personally trained by Śrīla Śrīdhar Mahārāj over the subsequent 42 years and personally selected by him to carry on his mission. He was renowned for his sweet and affectionate nature while at the same time he commanded a deep and broad appreciation of all the scriptures and spiritual practices. From 1992 Śrīla Govinda Mahārāj travelled extensively throughout the eastern and western worlds initiating thousands of disciples and personally caring for each and every one. He departed from this world in 2010.

Śrīla Āchārya Mahārāj, also known by his sannyās title, Bhakti Nirmal Āchārya, is the current Āchārya of Śrī Chaitanya Sāraswat Maṭh Nabadwīp. He appeared in this world in 1962 and after devoting his early years to study, joined the mission of his Gurudev. He was personally selected by Śrīla Govinda Mahārāj to continue this work and to initiate the sincere spiritual seekers. He constantly travels and with his boundless energy inspires all of his followers.
