Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj
Śrīla Śrīdhar Mahārāj, also known by his sannyās title, Bhakti Rakṣak Śrīdhar, was a pre-eminent disciple of Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Saraswatī Ṭhākur. He appeared in 1895 in West Bengal at the time of the British rule of India. He was from an exalted brahmin family and naturally excelled in all his studies. He dedicated himself to the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement at the age of 31 and for the following 62 years strictly followed this practice. He founded his temple Śrī Chaitanya Saraswat Maṭh in 1942 and remained there until his departure from this world in 1988. He was widely appreciated for his deep conceptions and volumes of original poetic writings.
